Ethanol is not the answer

Instead of being the cure-all, it opens up several cans of worms.

I agree. It's amazing how people will look at something touted as a solution without taking the whole picture into account. For instance, purely electric vehicles - they have to be charged from an outlet. But what produces that power? Could (in some cases) be a coal or similar fueled generating station.

Hybrids are better in terms of their efficiency - after all, the electric power is self-generated (regenerative braking or from the high-efficiency gasoline engine). But what about creation and disposal of the battery packs? What kind of environmental impacts there?

Oftentimes, I think, people are to gullible - by that I mean they don't take the time to actually look into the subjects in which they're interested. Environmentalists, conservationists, even theologians... God gave us the ability to comprehend things; it's a shame we don't use it more often and try to get to the truth of the issues around us.
